Monday, October 15: Students got their assignments back today. We also started unit 2 today (Powers and Exponent Laws). We did section 2.1. Homework: (textbook): pg 55 # 4, 5, 7, 8. We will also be doing review of this section tomorrow in class. Friday, October 12: We had our unit 1 test today. Thursday, October 11: We did a review for their test tomorrow. We went over the practice test (it was the test given out last year). There is extra math help tomorrow (Friday) at lunch if any students have any extra questions. Unit 1 Test tomorrow. Wednesday, October 10: I gave students extra time to finish their assignments from yesterday. When they were finished they had a work period to start review for their test on Friday. Students were given a practice test, extra practice review sheets and a worksheet on finding the surface area of composite objects. Test on Friday, October 12 Tuesday, October 9: We worked on our unit 1 Assignment today. We completed the surface area of three composite objects. We have a unit 1 test on Friday, October 12th. We will be doing review this week. There have also been extra worksheets for unit 1 added. Friday, October 5: P.D. day (no school) Thursday, October 4: We took up our homework from yesterday (pg 27-28 in the booklet). Students then had an exit card on composite shapes (one rectangular prism and one cylinder). Homework: (booklet) pg 29-30 (review). We also have a unit 1 test on Friday, Oct. 12 they should be reviewing. Wednesday, October 3: We went over the homework from yesterday (textbook questions pg 40 #3de). We continued in our booklets on pg 25 - calculating the surface area of cylinders. We also went over composite objects with cylinders. Homework: (booklet) pg 27-28 (finding the surface area of three composite objects). There will also be a unit 1 test on Friday, October 12th. Tuesday, October 2: We went over the homework questions from yesterday (finding the surface area of triangular prisms - pg 23 in the booklet). We then did pg 24-25 in the booklet, composite shapes with triangular prisms. Homework: (textbook) pg 40 # 3de Monday, October 1: We went over homework from Friday (pg 31 #8)- which was surface area of rectangular prism composite shapes. Students then were given an exit card (one rectangular prism composite object question). We started to review surface area of triangular prisms in the booklet (pg 23). Homework: (booklet) two triangular prism questions on bottom of pg 23. Friday, September 28: We took up the homework from yesterday and reviewed surface area of rectangular prism composite objects. Students were given time to start homework. There will be an exit card on Monday. Homework: (textbook) pg 31 # 8abc. Thursday, September 27: We continued in our booklets (pg 20-21). We went over composite objects and surface area of rectangular prisms. We did example A on pg 22 as a class. Homework: (booklet) pg 22 Example B and Example Problem. Wednesday, September, 26: We started a new section in our booklets on surface area of composite objects (pg 18-19). We started reviewing surface area of rectangular prisms (pg 20). Homework: (textbook) pg 30 # 4. Tuesday, September 25: Students had their quiz (1.1, 1.2). Monday, September 24: We did a review of sections 1.1 and 1.2 for their quiz tomorrow. Friday, September 21: Students did not have class today as they had a field trip in Social Studies. Thursday, September 20: We completed pages 16-17 (review of grade 8 Pythagorean Theorem) in their note booklet. We completed the questions from the booklet.
